cloph-dsp dropped Grungr, a free drive pedal plugin, and it's the kind of thing I'd throw on a snare bus or a vocal ad-lib just to add grit without reaching for a full saturation chain. Free drive plugins are usually one-trick, but this one has enough range to sit on more than just guitars.

Pleatech Audio released WorldVerb, a free reverb plugin for Windows, and free reverbs are almost always worth a download just to have another flavor in the folder. I keep three or four reverb options loaded at all times because no single one nails every space, and a new free option is never a bad thing to audition against your go-tos.

AOFN Audio put out Grizzly, a free Gristleizer-inspired modulation plugin, and that lineage alone tells you it's built for chaos - gated, stuttering, unpredictable modulation that can turn a boring loop into something with actual character. That's exactly the kind of tool I reach for when a beat feels too clean and needs some grit knocked into it.

What I'm actually running right now: still leaning on a solid saturation plugin on nearly every 808 bus in my Knoxville sessions, just to keep the low end feeling analog instead of sterile. It's a small move but it's the difference between a beat that sounds programmed and one that sounds played.
